The long wait is finally over..
The long wait is finally over.. I applied to five masters programs in architecture in early January, and finally, at the end of March, I heard back from them.
Accepted to: Rhode Island School of Design, University of Cincinnati, Arizona State University, and Ohio State University. Not accepted to: Yale University.
After visiting RISD and ruling it out, I’ve finally decided to attend Arizona State University to obtain my masters degree in architecture. The reasons are simple: I love Arizona, I’ve lived here for seven years (seven wonderful, sunny years…), and I believe that my family will eventually all live here - which means that I’ll be practicing architecture in Arizona in the future. It makes sense to intern, and make connections in Arizona over the next three years, so Arizona State seems like a great home for me..
I participated in ASU’s open house on April 1, and it only served to reinforce my decision. I only met 15 students from the program (which is about 40 people total), and of those 15, probably half will attend some other school… so I only really had the opportunity to meet 7 or 8 actual students from my program.
Needless to say, I’m really excited about the next three years, and I’m very ready to get this show on the road!! June 1st can’t come soon enough!
